Why most outdoor furniture fails in Singapore
We get asked about teak a lot. Everyone loves the idea of it. But untreated teak in Singapore greys in weeks and develops mildew in the grain. Powder-coated steel? Rusting at the joints within a few months. Standard fabric? Faded after one wet season. Most outdoor furniture is designed for European summers where it rains sometimes. Here it rains every day.
Musola builds with 304 stainless steel and 6063 aluminium, the same alloys used in yacht fittings. Solution-dyed acrylics that hold their colour through years of equatorial UV. Heller's rotation-moulded plastics have been sitting poolside at Caribbean and Southeast Asian resorts since the 1970s and still look fine. These aren't materials chosen for a catalogue. They're chosen because Singapore will punish anything less.
Three years in, the furniture should look like it did on delivery day. That's the baseline. If a brand can't promise that here, we don't carry it.

Musola
Founded in 2018 as part of a Spanish design manufacturing group, Musola creates outdoor furniture with genuine Mediterranean character. Warm, inviting, and built to endure. Collections span dining, lounge, and poolside categories, each using marine-grade 304 stainless steel, 6063 aluminium, and solution-dyed acrylic fabrics with anti-stain treatments.
Collaborations with designers including Santiago Sevillano, Yonoh Studio, and Carlos Guijarro have earned multiple international awards: IF Design Award 2025 (NIU), Red Dot 2024 (Baga), IF Design Award 2021 (Canasta, Salinas). This isn't commodity outdoor furniture. It's designed with the same rigour as indoor collections, but engineered to live permanently outside.

Heller
Since 1971, Heller has proven that plastic is a legitimate design material. Collaborations with Frank Gehry, Mario Bellini, Massimo Vignelli, and Philippe Starck have produced pieces that sit in MoMA's permanent collection. And also happen to be completely weatherproof.
Heller's UV-stabilised, injection-moulded plastics are virtually immune to Singapore's climate. No fading, no cracking, no moisture damage. Not all "outdoor-grade" materials are equal. Here's what actually works in Singapore's climate, and why our brands use them.
Frames & Structure
- 304 stainless steel: marine-grade, rust-proof even in salt-air environments
- 6063 aluminium alloy: lightweight, corrosion-resistant, powder-coat compatible
- UV-stabilised engineering plastics: zero maintenance, decades of outdoor life
- Avoid: mild steel, untreated iron, standard aluminium grades
Fabrics & Cushions
- Solution-dyed acrylic: colour woven into fibre, not applied to surface
- Anti-stain treatment: repels water, oil, and mildew
